A multimedia project honoring the depth and breadth of buddhist practices After nearly ten years, the project is nearing fruition, with two books planned as the next milestone. Explore and contribute your voice to the diversity and breadth of buddhism in america.

When I look back at the past decade of this journey, what stays with me most is the depth of what I’ve witnessed—ordinary people stepping into extraordinary transformation. What began as a personal attempt to understand what sincere practice looks like beneath the surface eventually revealed a vast landscape of courage, subtle growth, and a kind of resilience that can only come from walking an authentic path.

As you explore this project, I invite you to wander through the scope of what’s been gathered so far—the portraits, the stories, the long arcs of practice that form the backbone of the first book. These aren’t quick snapshots of inspiration, but windows into how real change unfolds over time.

Authentic Lineages The dynamic nature of Buddhism lends itself to offering diverse flavors of the practice, catering to various cultures and personalities. Within a single nation with a myriad of cultures, the manifestation of Buddhism can truly reflect this diversity. Delve into the varied expressions of the dharma within the three main vehicles of Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana. Ultimately, amidst this diversity, the essence of the teachings remains focused on liberation. Theravada While the term is seldom employed in the Western context, the essence of the lineage centers around the purity of Buddha's teachings. Traditionally associated with personal liberation, its manifestation in the West, as seen in formations like Insight Meditation, has undergone expansion and evolution. Learn more. Learn More Mahayana The Theravada path is rooted in personal liberation, but the Mahayana schools extend the motivation beyond individual salvation, aiming for the liberation of all beings from samsara. This pivotal departure point is seamlessly integrated into the teachings and practices of modern lineages like Zen, Plum Village tradition, and Chan. Vajrayana The Vajrayana path extends the teachings and practices of the Mahayana path, introducing advanced practices that expedite the potential for achieving enlightenment within a single lifetime. While commonly associated with Tibetan Buddhism, lesser-known lineages also fall into this category. Learn More

It also extends a meaningful invitation to Buddhist practitioners: to contribute their voices, help validate the importance of this work, and expand the diversity and authenticity reflected in the second book.

At its core, the project highlights a larger vision—preserving the integrity of the Buddhist path in the modern world and creating a space where newcomers and long-time practitioners alike can reconnect with the depth, purpose, and human richness of the tradition.

After years of work behind the scenes, I’m excited to share a meaningful turning point in this project. What started as an effort to document stories from modern Buddhist practitioners has now become something much larger—and more defined. Winter 2024 Update January 5, 2025 READ MORE I guess it's a good thing that I've been pretty steadily busy in 2023, not having too much time to reflect and write about it. New Mini Project July 3, 2023 READ MORE Although I experimented with this idea during a trip to upstate NY last year, I anticipate more interesting results this time around while exploring national parks. Weaving dharma into these epic hiking adventures feels appropriate  , and incorporating dharma into daily activities has gradually become a regular part of my mind training beyond meditation.  Northern Spring Tour 2023 April 8, 2023 READ MORE About this time last year, I was the road for about a month and half and little did I know how different it would be from the pandemic days. I suspected that it would be my 'last' significant roadtrip given that my day job was finally returning with the pandemic subsiding. I felt pretty good... 2023 Winter Update February 12, 2023 READ MORE In the past year, my karmic propensity has led to many encounters with Guru Rinpoche, aka, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. NY Fall Tour November 15, 2022 READ MORE Without a doubt, this trip was motivated by my desire to leave the grey winters of Michigan. I hadn't done a winter migration before so I wasn't sure that the end of january was quite the best time given that I would be sleeping in my van for most of the trip. For the most...
